While it’s the first post let’s share a common communication =)

emotionstream is a data mining research project that searches for emotion patterns on twitter.
The goal behind this project is to develop algorithms to find trends about what is making people happy, laugh or surprise in real time by using twitter data.

If you add some of the following emoticons to your tweets you will be able to see your emotions timeline, and if you don’t add any emoticons, you will also be able to see it :)

  • :) -> joy, happiness
  • lol -> funny, hilarious
  • :( -> sadness, disappointed
  • :O -> surprise, shock
  • :# -> embarrassed
  • :’( -> crying
  • }:( -> angry
  • :/ -> skeptical
